This role is responsible for loading, unloading, staging, and scanning freight in a fast-paced logistics environment. The ideal candidate is adaptable, detail-oriented, and comfortable working within a union environment where seniority guides assignments. **Key Responsibilities:** + Safely load and unload freight from inbound and outbound trailers. + Operate warehouse equipment, including: + Handheld pallet jacks + Sit-down forklifts + Scanners + Accurately scan, sort, and stage freight according to operational requirements. + Maintain compliance with all safety guidelines, policies, and procedures. + Keep the dock and surrounding work areas clean, organized, and free of hazards. + Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members regarding trailer status, freight flow, and shifting priorities. + Adapt to last-minute changes in assignments or workflow based on operational needs. + Work in accordance with union rules, safety standards, and seniority-based task assignments. **Qualifications:** + Prior warehouse, logistics, or dock experience preferred but not required. + Ability to operate pallet jacks and forklifts; certification a plus. + Comfortable working an overnight schedule in a physical, fast-paced environment. + Strong attention to detail and accuracy in freight handling and scanning. + Ability to lift, push, pull, and move freight as needed (up to company-specified weight limits). + Dependable, punctual, and able to adapt to sudden operational changes. **Work Environment & Physical Requirements:** + Union-based operation where seniority determines certain task assignments. + Warehouse/dock setting with exposure to varying temperatures, equipment noise, and frequent movement of freight. + Requires standing, walking, bending, and lifting throughout the shift. **Employee Type:** Permanent UPS is committed to providing a workplace free of discrimination, harassment, and retaliation. **Other Criteria:** UPS is an equal opportunity employer.
